About Care Recruitment
Care Recruitment finds care and support staff for care providers across the UK. Our office is at 30 High St, Thornton Heath, in south London, and we recruit for services in all four nations by phone, email, video call and face-to-face interview.
We work for two groups of people at once: the managers who need a safe, reliable rota, and the care workers who fill it. This page explains how we try to do right by both.
What we do
We recruit for care homes, nursing homes, home care agencies, supported living and learning disability services, mental health services, children’s homes, housing support, and respite and day services.
The law treats our two kinds of work differently, so we keep them apart and explain which one you are getting before anything is agreed.
- Temporary cover
- We act as an employment business. We supply a worker to your service, they work under your direction, and we pay them.
- Permanent recruitment
- We act as an employment agency. We find a candidate for a post on your own payroll, and you employ them from their first day.
- Temp to perm
- A temporary worker joins your staff. Any transfer fee, and the option of a longer hire instead, is set out in our terms before the first shift.
How we work with care providers
When you call, we ask about the people you support before we ask about the rota. Knowing that a resident is frightened by men on nights, or that a young person needs someone who can drive, tells us more about the right match than a job title does.
We only offer people whose checks are complete, and we tell you plainly when we cannot cover a shift, so you can make other arrangements in good time. Our terms, including charge rates, are agreed with you in writing before we introduce or supply anyone.
If a worker falls short of what you expect, tell us. We listen to your account, speak to the worker, and agree with you what happens next, including whether they return to your service.
How we treat the people we place
We never charge a work-seeker a fee for finding them work. Before you accept a shift or a job we tell you the pay rate, the hours, the address and who to report to, and you are free to say no.
We are honest about the settings we think will suit you. Someone who has spent years in residential care for older people may need a proper induction before a shift in a children’s home, and we say so to you and to the service.
Your documents are used for your checks and kept securely. Our privacy notice explains what we hold, why and for how long.
