Staff for every kind of care setting
A nursing home on a night shift needs different people from a supported living service on a Saturday afternoon. We recruit for nine kinds of setting, and each one has its own page covering the regulator, the roles, the checks and how cover works.
Choose your setting
Each page covers England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, because the same kind of service can sit under a different regulator depending on where it is.
- Care homes Residential homes where people live with care and support around the clock.
- Nursing homes Care homes that provide nursing care, with registered nurses on the rota day and night.
- Home care Visits to people in their own homes to help with personal care, meals and medicines.
- Supported living People with their own tenancies and a support team who help them live the way they choose.
- Learning disability and autism Support for autistic people and people with a learning disability, in any setting.
- Mental health services Care homes, supported accommodation and community support for people with mental health needs.
- Children’s homes Residential homes for children and young people who cannot live with their families.
- Housing support Help to keep a tenancy and live independently, in supported housing or in people’s own homes.
- Respite and day services Short breaks for people and their carers, and daytime support and activities.
Who registers each kind of service
The same kind of service answers to a different regulator in each nation. Children’s homes are the main exception inside England itself, because Ofsted registers them instead of the CQC.
- England
- Care Quality Commission for care homes, nursing homes, home care and supported living. Ofsted for children’s homes.
- Scotland
- Care Inspectorate for care homes, care at home, housing support and nurse agencies.
- Wales
- Care Inspectorate Wales for care homes, including children’s homes, and domiciliary support services.
- Northern Ireland
- RQIA for residential care homes, nursing homes, domiciliary care agencies, day care settings, children’s homes and nursing agencies.
Checks that change with the setting
Every worker goes through our standard checks. Some settings add their own: an NMC register check for nurses in nursing homes, the children’s barred list for children’s homes, licence and insurance checks for home care and floating support, and medicines competency for seniors in care homes.
Tell us about your service
Give us the setting, the roles and the shift times, and we will tell you who we can offer.
